WNEW Already Taking Veiled Shots At WTOP?

One of the liners that WNEW is playing in between "The History of Rock and Roll" goes like this:

(knock on glass)

"Hey, come out of there... The news is over here..."

Call me naive, but I think that's a hidden dig at market news leader WTOP - they of the "glass-enclosed nerve center" that they speak of so much over there...

Is it just me, or did anybody else have this thought?
 
Unlike most stations that try to do everything "hush hush", it seems that WNEW is looking for as much pre-sign-on-hype as they can get. I think they're loving the dcrtv blogs and the radio-info posts. I wouldn't be surprised if they're e-mailing everything to Dave over at DCRTV.
