WNEW-FM

I would like to add the fact that while certain country venues may sell out in New York, there are many who come to town to see the concerts. I would venture to guess that 80% of the audience of a sold out country performance at MSG is from New Jersey and Conneticut. I've heard plenty of commericials for country music concerts at MSG, on Country 92.5 in Hartford, CT for example. Who knows how many more surrounding country stations advertise and give away tickets to NYC. concerts thus filling the venues to capacity with few locals in the house.

Additionally CD sales are wwaaaaay down nationally! If NYC. is the #1 market for sales of country music CD's, for which I've never found the stats to back up, it may very well be due to how many outsiders/tourists are purchasing CD's at music stores in New York's more touristy areas which is the only place you can find music stores these days.
Most New Yorker's are wired to MP3 players so it's doubtful they're running into the Virgin Mega Store in Times Square to purchase Toby Keith's latest.

I've always thought that if country were suitable to anywhere in this market, a New Jersey station would be the place to do it.

I have a concept that would get above a 3 share in NYC. 1027 the all new HOW YA DOIN' FM. DJ's that talk like that and prizes to fit like a year free eye brow waxing and chest hair removal at a local salon. Obviously you could also incorporate some Air America programming on this station too. There is way more than 3 shares available around here.
