WNHX 51

I was browsing the topics earlier and I saw the thread about overpriced cable. So for the heck of it, I surfed around looking for some of the OTA stations I could pick up via antenna. Although it wasn't one of the stations I could pick up, I found a CT station I never heard of before: WNHX 51.

I checked out the FCC pages, but it wasn't really enough: http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=WNHX
Then I went on to search the web, and found they had their own website: http://51.tv

Apparently they call themselves "Area 51 TV" and seem to be affiliated with the management group of Area 51/Hollywood East, which was the company trying to buy the Stratford Engine Plant. They wanted to locate film studios there and possibly a TV station (I posted a thread about this a few months ago). I'm not sure what's going on in with the company, I think they're having legal issues with someone, the last I read in the paper.

Aside from management issues, has anyone been able to pick up Channel 51? Are they actually on the air? The website says they were going to launch a new digital, multi-platform TV station from East Rock in New Haven in 2007. In addition to a traditional format, they broadcast interactive TV games that viewers can watch and participate in using their cell phones and computers. It's an interesting concept for a local station. (Kind of like pay-per-view on the old WHCT, which failed miserably).

But did they ever actually sign-on the air? I'm interested to know the story on this station. Seems like no one ever mentioned them before.

WNHX-LP 51 is a low power station that is apparently now on the WEDY tower on East Rock Park. It transmits 100kW @ 126m ASL directional to the north.
It has an analog license. They haven't filed for any digital permit as of yet.

Being 30 miles away (New Britain), I'd probably have no chance with this one. I know this because I get virtually nothing with Telemundo being on channel 50 at all.

I have never gotten them, the only thing get on 51 is the Telemundo station in Springfield, I don't get enough adjacent channel mess from 50 to cause a problem, so if it were running more power, it might be possible.
