WNIR Auditions

Looks like there are going to be a few more auditions on the way. Mark Williamson formerly the Mayor's spokesperson is up next Tuesday. I believe he is the longest of long shots as liberal talkers do not fare well on the radio. (I realize Joe Finan did for years but Joe is the exception not the rule). So far I give the lead to Jeff Kinzbach but will be interested to see who else is auditioning. Bob Earley is best suited to Weekends and if Tom Erickson is unable to return I think Jim Isabella would fit in well during his shift.

I believe Bill Klaus is screwing with all of you guys and is already in negotiations with someone they're not even going to put on the radio until they're signed, sealed, and delivered. You know that whole "fool me once, fool me twice" saying? He's fooling you twice now.

Unless you think a Lefty (that doesn't do well on the radio) or an amateur (Couch Burner? Come ON, now) are REALLY in the running for the prime job on station #1 in Akron.

Please check the latest numbers... WNIR hasn't been number one in Akron for awhile now. Couch Burner DEFINITELY is not the answer, and the management could well be in negotiations with someone, but a change is needed. Middays at WNIR were only the Prime Job because of the man that used to sit in that chair. If THAT is what they're looking for --- they're chasing windmills. It's just another airshift to fill now. Expectations to hold the numbers or advertising dollars of Howie are unrealistic and unfair to whomever lands the job.

What, another ex-pro football player "wants to return home", and got a call from his mom?

:D

Point being: if you're taking this "tryout" crap seriously, then you need an adjustment. There are plenty of current, burgeoning talkers out there capable, willing, and available, and who knows what the Kaisers are doing behind the scenes. This whole "star search" crap MIGHT have worked when they wanted to fill Finan's shoes, and gets people talking (duh). Now?

"Fool me once......"
