Mind burp...it is number 93. Be sure to read the discussion about it on the website. I would suggest you decide how much you are willing to pay, and get an attorney in Washington to bid for
you. The bidding is done in rounds, and you could very easily miss out if you are not on top of it...I would not advise trying to "roll it" on your own. JBI

You can always let Flinn buy/build them and lease them back to you. That seems to be his thing.

You could also probably get a station in Vardaman or Calhoun City just as cheap as the Drew license. I wouldn't recommend it though. Calhoun/Chickasaw county area have been tough places for radio in the recent past. There is currently 1 dark FM in the area now.

I considered bidding on one of those channels to rebroadcast WBLE...but after checking the stats... I determined that ...NO, that woulkd not be wise. I predict these channels will end up being deleted. (By the way, Calhoun City can only be activated at a certain site, and even then, with contour protection) Not condusive to a successful operation....JBI

Right on jboyd.Auctions just a way to get the FCC richer! Some of those channels are duds.Anyone looking for a fast way to lose money, welcome aboard.FCC could care less how much money you lose. They just want the dollars and the boys with the bucks always grab the best ones.Just lovely..

Oldies: We both have been there and know the facts...I appreciate your comments...too bad for the big buck boys who have all the answers...as I always say " You cannot do business where business is not being done". Lots of the channels in this auction are suspect, to say the least....
but: "Let the buyer beware"....all the best to you and we shall see....regards...JBI

So true.I was among the applicants for the State college channel at Starkville.Would like to have it but that was BF (Before Flinn).I think he ponied up $261,000 for it.Now a K-love as he leased it out. He's something else. You know money really does talk..

Yea, oldies, but money is not smart. How many people have leased this to no avail. There has to be a logic or sooner or later. the figures will prevail. Just a matter of time till cooler heads prevail....watch it...regards...JBI

Hello J. Boyd & Michael - Flinn Is The DR!
Nope Just Kidding. Thanks So Much For The Advice !
I Just Wondering Id I Have Time TO 'Pull Everything Together Before The Stations Auction (???)
I Do Have FRN (WOW) ---> I Am Stepping UP !
LOL !

If You Don't "win" The Auction Are All Of Placed Funds Returned?
The Great Old Days Would Be Wonderful- The Bidding/Auction Is Seemingly-To Me A Scam Of The F.C.C.

The Airwaves Belong To Us, The People Who Have Interest Serving The Public As A Public Trust.
Not Having The Dark Stations, CPs & Such Being Auctioned By The Government.
The Frequencies Should Be Granted To The Party Demonstrating A True Proposal & Genuine Mindset That The The Facility Is & Will Serve The Community Of License.
(That's Just My Opinion).

Thanks Very Much For Your Insight J. Body!

I Really Hope To Meet You (1) Day !
I Would Love To See You Radio Complex & The Many Collections You Have !!!

You've Gotta Know Judge Dennis Baker (Retied.) From Batesville, MS.
Mr, Baker Is My Grandfathers First Double Cousin. (Break It Down Mary!)
I Told Yall Some Of My Family Were Backwood Country Folks!

T.J Flowers From Enid Is My Great-Uncle

James Pugh From Sumner Was My Second Cousin - He Was Sheriff & Judge For Tallahatchie County For A While.

I Could Go On, But Sure Your Yawning By Now!

Take Care Guys!!!

P T BARNUM ALERT! Opening bid for C2 in Cleveland 60K?? Are they dreaming? I wouldn't give 6K for it.The Delta is like the Last stop on the Stephen King Horror Tour.Way over radioed and none making any serious money.

Agreed. There arefour active local services (Commercial) now in the Cleveland market. This auction proposes THREE more....try SEVEN total! Thanks, but no thanks. But watch///there will be bids above the minimum on each....will be interesting to see what happens after..JBI

My 1st radio gig was a small town of 25k,only game in town.A license to print money.Mercy! Heavy logs..Now in a town that size you would have about 5 of these signals, all stabbing eachother in the back, when TV and print is the real enemy..

After 53 plus years in this business...I will tough it out...for new radio people with limited $$....I feel sorry. Sad...JBI

I know it's tough in small, over served markets, but it's also a struggle in a place like San Diego with border signals and L.A. booming in. Here in Memphis I think Entercom is doing OK, but the rest are all trying to stay afloat.

Yup- That's Always An Option, Micheal, Flinn Is A Respectful Physician- From What I've Heard.
When WLVS (long time ago) Was The Only Station In The Original Building @ MT. Moriah & Winchester.
My Mother Knew A Jock There And She Took Me Over--- Then It Appeared There Was Only Room For (1) Station.
Now It Looks Like A Village.
Wonder If He Holds The Most Of Building Permis Or Radio License?
"One Should Dabble In What One Can Handle'. krs

My first visit to the 6080 building was to pick up a prize. WEZI and WLVS where both in the building them. EZI's studio's where in the rear right corner next to the door. I got to walk back and meet the guy babysitting the board when I was there. That must have been around 87 or 88 before all the changes were made to EZI.

Now I think Q107.5/96.1, Hot 107, 1430, 56HBQ, 1210 Radio Ambiente, 1240 WAVN, and possibly even 87.7 (TV6) all are there.

It's quite the hub of activity today.

Michael: I am sure you are right....but based on my limited knowledge of the other operations, I must say"Methinks it is much ado about nothing"...JBI
