Sussex was hit VERY hard with severe weather yesterday.....There were power outages all over North Jersey and there are still areas this evening without power.....Here in Northern Bergen County we had 70mph winds, hail, and flash flooding due to 2-1/2 inches of rain that fell in 30 minutes......And I cannot even discribe how bad the lightning was....There are trees and powerlines down all over the place.....So to answer your question WNNJ-FM was most likely affected by the severe weather so that's why they are out.<P ID="signature">______________

Confirmed. Power was out at the main stick in Stokes, and the back up in Andover/Newton was misbehaving. All is well now.

It was Lightning

Just in case anyone asks.

Re: It was Lightning

Hahah ! It's always lightning ! Not many direct
hits, but side effects of phone line and power line
strikes, often miles away. Usually, the more
power you use, (at a transmitter site) the less likely
you are to have problems, as the huge draw from a
25,000 to 35,000 watt FM transmitter tends to lower the
imdedance on the power lines and keep the lightning out.
