WNOP FM ????

Has anyone heard news of WNOP putting an FM station on the air at 89.5 in Southeast Indiana? Supposed to be able to put it on the air for 75,000.

With WMKV @ 89.3, WHSS @ 89.5, and WNKU @ 89.5-89.9 with Iboc, it's not likely. There are already way too many short spaced stations there.

If Scared Heart Radio is WNOP, they may have bought the Versailles,IN CP on 89.5 from Spyrex Communications recently.

If you go to WNOP's website and click on Newsletter and then an article called Spreading Our Wings, it pretty much seems like this is a done deal. Just wondering if anyone else had heard about it and what kind of coverage it would give them.

There's a clean copy of their 60dbu coverage circle at http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM1318368.html .

Looks like they've landed a spot on the former WXCH 103.1 Versailles,IN tower site near Napoleon,IN. Maps says the 700 watt signal will cover about half of Batesville (population 6000) and all of Versailles (population 1700). There are other towns within the coverage circle, but they are all smaller than Versailles. Cows far outnumber people inside this coverage circle.
