Heard the new Radio Now 93.1 HD-2 Dance Channel LATE LAST NIGHT. So it is actually on the air, no Rhythmic Ac, or Disco for B-105.7 yet, But who cares about that really? The WNOU Dance Channel is actually pretty good, Mixture of Underground, and mainstream dance, and even some imports... (Slightly house leaning. Their current positioner is simply (WNOU-Side Channel-2),, They would go from playing Vynle Shakers, into Deep Dish-Sacramento, into some 90s Dance from the Outhere Brothers- with BOOM BOOM BOOM.

This is nice to see, as we remember when Radio Now signed on they were dance-friendly (also at the time had an innovative concept of playing the most requested song of the past hour at the top of each hour).

Re: So you have a HD Radio Clubber?

Are we presumming correctly or did you have access to someone elses radio?

That's cool that WNOU-2 is on. I'm just curious, any Eric Edwards or Chuck Riley Voiceovers in any form heard on there? Come on, I'm sure doing a dance station has the "Emmis Brass" thinking back in the day and feeling nostalgic:)

I dont have an HD radio, but my friend Ryan, and my cousin Randy, both have them in their cars. I road with Ryan to Indy the other night, 30 mile drive, and the HD signal started booming in just north of martinsville, just as soon as you get on top the hill, and out of the valley. They are using the same voice guy as their Analog signal. Its not Eric Edwards, its a younger sounding voice guy. BTW,, My cousin in Bloomington cant get any of the Indy HD stations, and thats only 50 miles from Indy.

If you go further back ... they actually counted down (IIRC) the top 10 hits each hour, using input from requests, soundscan, etc. (I think it was eventually shortened to the top 5, then 3, then 1.)

And they are still offering the number 1 song at the top of the hour. (Presumably excepting block programming like mixshows, AT40, etc.)
