WNPC Changes COL

They turn down the chance to improve signal to a class C-3 and instead move the COL to White Pine. Now they will never be able to change the COL because they are the only station there.

If Bristol Broadcasting realizes this is a mistake, then I think they could simply change the COL of WAEZ (Electric 94.9) from Greeneville to White Pine -- Greeneville still has two AMs: WGRV and WSMG. Then, they would be free to change WNPC back to Newport or another community.

A much bigger change is in the works besides a COL change. The filing indicates a move from 92.9 to 104.7 for WNPC, which would give BBC a chance to upgrade WFHG-FM.

WFHG also has an application to move its COL to Bluff City and to 92.9. The proposed tower location appears to be just south of Johnson City.

Now that BBC has done what they wanted to WNPC they will probably put it on the market to unload it. The signal won't be as good in Cocke County as it was. The directional pattern does point towards Newport but from the tower location that looks like the only way to get a city grade signal in White Pine.

why would they want to move 92.7 to 92.9? is it gonna make a difference?

So whats that gonna do to their signal in the tri-cities?
