WNPT and WTBC

I figured that might be the scenario that would play out...sports moving to 102.9 and classic country remaining on 1230/100.1. :( I can't hear either (1230 or 100.1) in south Shelby county, so I guess I will go back to listening to classic country via the internet.

Like all Townsquare stations, it will be available on the RadioPup app.

I would think classic country would work better on the bigger signal. Isn't that more of a thing embraced by rural folks and not big city dwellers? :)

Yep, but it's also an older skewing format that tends to underbill it's ratings share.

I wasn't aware WNPT was streaming, but I'll pass. If I am going to have to listen to the station online, I might as well listen to whatever else is available on the internet for classic country.

That's a good point. I suppose it all depends on how many of the "Catfish" listeners are in Tuscaloosa where the 100.1 translator primarily reaches vs the outlying areas. I know there ae some people in the western suburbs of Birmingham listening to WNPT, who of course, will no longer be able to hear the station, since they're outside the Tuscaloosa 100.1 translator's coverage area, along with the fact that there is a 100.1 translator in Birmingham.
