Since WNPV in Lansdale went silent on May 1, 2020, the license was donated to Four Rivers Broadcasting, owners of the regional Word-FM network and has remained dark. The transmitter property was taken over by the North Penn School District and WNPV has been granted an STA to return to the air using a non-directional signal from their old side using one of the towers of their old array with 124 watts day and pre-sunrise. and 22 watts night. I heard them doing a short test a couple of days ago so I'm assuming that they are preparing to go back on the with the temporary STA facilities. In any event, they have until May 1 to get back on the air or their license will be deleted as a matter of law. I can't see them not getting it back up and running in the next 15 days, so would expect to see it back on soon.

WNPV Update

I was in Lansdale midday today & heard a weak signal of '70's top 40 music on 1440. I first thought it was some distant station but then I heard it ID'd as WNPV Lansdale between every few songs (which all sounded 'tinny'). I put on their old 98.5 FM translator & that was on with a weak, overmodulated signal alternating '50's rock & roll with '70's disco. Both faded out a few miles away in Horsham. Wondering when Four Rivers will launch the station and if they go with the Word FM contemporary Christian music or the hymns format run on WPAZ Pottstown.
A few days ago I was listening to a low power 100 watt FM stereo station on 98.5 FM WXPM Pheonixville, PA at my home in Spring Mount, PA. At some point during the morning, the station appeared to be signing as WNPV Landsdale 
It was like hearing a ghost.
I assumed then that WXPM had changed to WNPV due to the same '50-90s music format, lack of commercials and good signal strength. There was also some minimal dead air, broken up audio mixes and random WNPV station identifying besides on the half hour and hour. A few random EBS blasts also aired. After driving around a bit the next day it seems I may be mistaken and WXPM is still On Air signing as such and also WNPV Landsdale, PA is On Air station identifying again. Just so happens WNPV Lansdale is now stronger than WXPM Pheonixville low power at my home location. Hmmm
I was always a big fan of WNPV AM for decades and hope things return. If it stays the way it appears to be in "testing mode" on 98.5 FM as a popular, yet ecliptic '60-2K music format without commercials (funded by grants) then I'm all in! If they switch to religious music or similar, I'm probably out and may set up a directional antenna to bring WXPM 98.5 back in.

124 watts! Does this make them the lowest-power daytime AM signal in the U.S.? (Not counting TISes or Part 15s, of course.)
Hi Everyone. Why is WNPV airing 5 year old Darrell Berger shows on their internet stream. They are a total waste. Instead, since their over the air signal on am 1440 is so bad they should be streaming am 1440 24hrs a day 7 days a week since am 1440 is currently airing such a great 60's & 70's music format. Take off the talk shows on WNPV.com & start streaming am 1440 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Is WNPV looking into getting the wattage on am 1440 at least up to 1,000 watts?
The internet stream is currently running echoes of an era with Chuck Irwin.
For an STA, nah. I’ve seen them as low as a 5 or 10 watts just running on a long wire.
While I enjoy WXPM, I live in Phoenixville. WNPV or not, I have trouble getting a good signal in my car.
Also, it was my understanding the school bought the land, not the license. Its going to be WORD-fm if I remember correctly. Without listening to the words closely, those could sound similar.

Man, how many "Word-FMs" does this area need? There's already a 250 watt FM repeater of WPAZ right outside of Lansdale!
Update on WNPV they have applied for 250 watts day and 23 watts night using one tower from the WNPV site.
First, I would like to say thank you for letting me participate. I am DJ Andy, the VPO & PD of WXPM, 98.5fm, Phoenixville, PA. We are in 3 parts to make one. Our License is Phoenixville however, our X-Mitter is located in Spring City with our Studios in Limerick. Now, I would like to help clear up a misunderstanding of Four Rivers Community Broadcasting from an earlier post. The President at wordFm, Charlie has been VERY HELPFUL to WXPM in more ways than one AND assisted with the Transmitter Location, FCC things, use of his Property, and some more. As far as Program Content on the Four Rivers Station mentioned (another post), they stole NOTHING, just a coincidence. WNPV may not even hear us in their location. Yes, there is a signal overlap (2 stations at once) however, Four Rivers DID voluntarily make Power & Antenna Adjustments from the Previous Management to address that. We’re just 2 close neighboring stations on the same Frequency; maybe something overlooked by the FCC from the Previous Owners. The Program originators DID apply previously as an Association for their own License as a Time Share Agreement with WXPM however, they were Denied (was public FCC Info). I consider Charlie at Four Rivers a Friend to WXPM (like a remote part of the team) and hopes it stays that way. I look forward to having him help WXPM in the future. I would also like to say “THANK YOU” to Charlie for his Dedication, Knowledge, and Wisdom in the Radio Field besides helping others. He has the backing of the Right team; the one with the cross! I am confused by what is happening at WNPV - maybe DJ Andy can clear this up. The assumption was that Four Rivers was going to place either Word-FM or their 'Great Songs of the Faith' programming there. When they started playing '70'-80's music all day it was assumed to be testing the equipment or for staying on to keep the license. Now this has gone on for many months & the afternoons designated '80's Afternoons'. Meanwhile the only online presence is the archives of the old WNPV. Who is running the music, is this a 'permanent' format or is Word Still coming, and who is funding this without commercials. They are still running this at the low power as if they only want to be heard in the Lansdale area. The original 1960 daytime WNPV put out a better signal with 500 watts. So what are the plans?
