WNSH back with 30 kW on Oct 17?

WNSH's Keating Willcox says the Beverly-based AM station will return with its 30 kw (and still
85 w at night, IIRC) on Oct 17. Same programming as before, I'm guessing...and surely by
then WPEP in Taunton will breathe its last (a requirement for the WNSH upgrade).

Now that the FCC is looking favorably on FM translators for flea-powered AM's, how about an FM translator in Taunton for WVBF-AM 1530 in Casino-land? Possible frequencies: 94.9 or 96.5. Would the first be too close to adjacent channel 95.1 in W. Barnstable; the latter too close to same-channel 96.5 WERS-FM translator on Pope's Island (whatever happened to separation of Church and State?) in New Bedford Harbor?

I can't believe there's nobody in Bristol County working to save WPEP! I can't believe they're willing to let it just go away!! Does anyone know if there's anything going on in this regard?

You may not have heard that some of their daytime programming is going over to WVBF 1530 in Middleborough, which can be heard in Taunton in the daytime, but not at night when they have to go down to very low power.

Ya, I've heard that.

But, you don't really believe that makes up for the loss of a local outlet with 50+ years' history, do you; even if 'VBF was full power 24/7?

No, not really. But, at least some of the programming can still be heard there.

WNSH has picked up the syndicated (from Charlotte, NC) Bob and Sheri show for morning drive. I noticed this today on Bobandsheri.com. When checking www.WNSH.com, I noticed they have the show listed as Tom and Sheri. ???

Well done Mr WNSH Webmaster. ;D :D
