WNTF

Hey guys. Just found that WNTF is back on the air. I thought my HDR16 would have a decent signal from them in Altamonte but even that radio has a lot of trouble with their signal. Just a bit of an FYI I guess. I do like the classic RNB but it is not listenable here on the radios I have with me. I'll bring my CC EP up with me next time to see what that one can do. Just a bit of a sidenote, I think the CC EP has slightly better AM than the HDR16.

WNTF is now on 1600 AM and man it is freaking awesome!!!!! Love the format right now on 1600. Got my EP glued to it.

In a market of 2 million, WNTF only puts a 10 mV/m signal over about 175,000 and at night covers about 18,000.

"Hold up there, wise gentlemen"... If WNTF is now on 1600 (which will always be WOKB to me) then what's on 1580 in Bithlo?

I haven't listened, so this is only speculation on my part, but, perhaps 1580 and 1600 are simulcasting for better coverage. After 1600 downgraded from 5kw-U; DA-2 to 2.2kw day and 35 watts at night with virtually no night service over Orlando, neither station covers Orlando completely with a single single so a simulcast makes good business sense.

OK. I like the music they play. That is what I meant in the last post. And hey, they have a chance on 1600 as opposed to 1580. I could not hear 1580 that well here in Altamonte. Even on car radios and the CC EP. I can hear 1600 pretty well on the EP and car radios.

I don't know why, but I really enjoy this station now. Mainly because it's just different and something I have personally not heard on the radio here before. It is the Caribbean network and it is awesome reggae music!!!!!! The 2e has trouble with them in Lockhart and in Altamonte but I dx it all the time and listen online. Where is this station broadcasting from? Like what area of Orlando.

50 S Clarke Road Ocoee is where WNTF is along with WOKB 1680 and WLAA 1600. The 1680 and 1600 transmitter site is behind the studio
