Well that was the scoop...WLAD, Dabury...

But according to the Friday "Farewell" Show of a week ago Friday, he turned the job down.

The Morning Liftoff went spinning out of controil from there.

Didn't he work at WKXL at some point? Somehow recall a guy by that name there a few years ago. I think he did PM drive...it was a weird transition to him after Arnie Arneson....a way out there leftie leading into an equally way out rightie. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

I don't think George worked for WKXL, if anything he was on as a guest host on the Arnie Arneson show a few times before he moved to mornings on WNTK(he started out at 6:00 in the evening on WNTK). I liked listening to him when I could - a great host that could make it funny and interesting at the same time.

He did have an afternoon show, I know it ran on WMEX in Rochester but unsure where it originated, pretty sure it was either WKXL or WTPL.

George Russell is definitely "out of the box," for better or worse.

I actually ran into George on Saturday in Concord and chatted with him for a bit. He said he was going to take the Danbury job but instead decided to get out of the radio business to deal with some family issues.
