WNTP ratings

What kind of ratings does WNTP get? Do they show up with anything significant in the money demos (25 - 54 )? How do the sales people make their goals? just wondering. They don't show up at all on arb's list of top 20 stations in Philly. Do they ever register above a 1.5?

Look at the PPM data. In the toilet.

There's just not much to enjoy on WNTP - and it lacks in personality. What they should do is to act as a real competitor to WPHT. Instead, they just mail it in with second-class birdfeed.

One of the few shows that they did snag with any potential for a half-decent audience (Michael Savage) was relegated to tape delay before being canceled. Like him or hate him, he does get an audience between 6 pm and 9 pm. Dennis Miller is on delay too. As if they had such compelling programming that they actually need to run anything on a delay! LOL ;D

Let's face it, Salem is there for one reason: to push its own political and social agenda. The hosts distributed by Salem are proponents of that agenda. Bennett, Prager, Medved, and Hewitt are ALL Salem network programs. Local Salem stations do not control the talk programming. It's done at the national level with little or no local input. The only bright spot on their schedule is Laura Ingraham.

Relegating Savage to overnights was an absurd move. They did it to save face after he dropped the F-bomb accidentally on the air several months ago. (They had to keep the Christian part of their business happy, you know). Replacing him with Dennis Miller, who on the radio is about as funny as was Al Franken, will never get the same numbers. Plus, at least for the majority of his run on WNTP Savage was live, not on a 12 hour delay, like Miller.

I didn't really want this to be a thread concerning opinions of the hosts or Salem. Just information about THE RATINGS! I don't have access to the full ratings and was wondering how the sales staff is able to sell a station with such a weak presence. How do they make money?

Well, let me get the tweezers so we can seperate the programming from the ratings.

Sigh. I guess what we really need here is insight from a sales person.

Agreed. Clearly, one is hand in hand with the other.

If we can't talk about WNTP's programming as to why they did so badly, then why bother with this thread?
