You guys are insane. None of these companies can currently justify the technical modifications you suggest at this point in time.... Especially in a small market such as Ft. Myers and Naples. And if you think a Tampa Bay station is gonna make technical modifications for the Ft. Myers market you're crazy.

Are you in a parallel radio universe where all stations work together and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars moving their facilities around to help out their brother broadcasters make better signals in their markets? And the FCC allows it without question?
Your credibility (not to mention your sanity) has been questioned sir. Perhaps you can share with us the basis of your various scenarios.

I see there is a bill, where there talking about dropping the 2nd, 3rd. adjacent channel rule for low power stations, then there would be room for 100.7, 2 channels from WAVV, I don't see why 96.5 was allowed, there 2 channels from 96.1 and 96.9, WAVV may let 100.7 go in Bonita Springs.
If WPOI went to the WHPT tower site it could go higher up, yeah it's further south, it would help if the same company owned those FT Myers stations, then doing it might be considered temporarily to make the translator go a way.
Those AM stations could operate on 1 of there DT sub channels "Such As" 46.2, yrs. ago I mentioned this to Randy Michaels, he said it's a good idea but there's no tuner that will work on batteries yet.

By the looks from one of the other posts here it appears that the triple cast will last a year which seems a long time to me. I asked the same question on that thread also. What will become of 1240 & 1270? What kind of format would work there? Myself I would not mind seeing a 50's - 70's oldies format on them. It also would be great if 1270 could truly become a "Naples" station again. As you said we are dreaming. Fort Myers/Meridian is not big on thinking outside the box it appears.
Being there is already three sports stations and several Spanish stations in the area I don't see those two formats going there. Seeing how Fort Myers/Meridian seems to operate my best guess they will put on some sort of syndicated second tier talkers or something along those lines. Let's hope they can be a bit more creative than that.

840 AM is no longer HD, I won't tell you the call letters, or location, I was told when the 3 year warranty expires many HD systems, will quietly disappear, when stations find out the repair bill will be in the thousands, if not tens of thousands.
HD operates at 1% of the analog power. I would like to experiment with this below.
Would like to see the FCC come out with this, some stations could operate a new class A0 on the 2nd adjacent channel from there main signal.
EXAMPLE FCC NOTICE:
Stations would be allowed to operate 1 additional station above or below the main signal on the 2nd adjacent channel, 15 - 20% less distance separation than a class A, New class A0 no more than 600 watts, 15 - 20% less distance separation than a class A, owners with more than 2 FM station signal overlaps would be excluded from this exception. This new rule would bump translators.
WGRR is a great station, plays hits up into the 80's, WINK 96.9 needs to hear WGRR online.
If WINK 96.9 would try to sound like WGRR with the signal they might reach the top 5 in the market.

Comments 98.5 covers the SW Florida market better, 98.5 might do good with oldies...
