WNUA format switch near?
The rumored format switch at Clear Channel Radio's smooth jazz WNUA-FM (95.5) may happen soon. Clear Channel has dumped most of the well-known on-air talent at WNUA in recent months, and sources say the station's sales department has dwindled to just two people, when it usually had numbered 10 to 12. And WNUA's ad revenue has plunged to about a third of what it was a year ago. Some observers speculate Clear Channel might try a country format, but nothing is official yet.

If this is true, it is a LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME. Smooth Jazz is a very unique and wonderful format and genre for the radio. I am angered at the very prospect of switching ANY Smooth Jazz station's formats across the country. People must be peed off at the change. I wouldn't blame them.
And another country station in Chi-town?

1. We already have US99.
2. I took a glance at a "Cat Country" playlist yesterday from some other station's website (since the rumor is that it is supposed to be a Cat Country station switch) and saw Darius Rucker on the list. Who wants to listen to that guy? He is TOO OVERRATED for his good, IMHO.
