WNUE 98.1 Entire Staff Let Go

I guess we have a Spanish FM Format change today.

The entire WNUE 98.1 staff was let go today. The Morning Show Crew, Afternoon Jocks, Evenings, Promotions Team, all let go.

Is there going to be a change to English Language programming, or another Spanish format.

Any thoughts???

i thought they where top rated

guess rumba 100.3 is gonna stay after all

WNUE fared poorly in the first releases of PPM data. While Entravision has so e English stations, where they have extensive Spanish language TV interests they do Spanish first. perhaps they will do one of the satellite delivered formats they have.

Wow! Very interesting...usually a staff is out if as station is sold...a sudden staff departure could mean a quick format flip, perhaps an LMA..

Salem would love to buy the frequency to launch its Fish contemporary Christian music format, which would put pressure on Z88.3.

WNUE is licensed to Titusville..could Cox buy it and put WDBO on 98.1?

I would of thought they would keep at least some of the staff if they were to stay with a format of Spanish language.
Then again, the announcement that is looped is in Spanish & looping "Feliz Navidad" points to Spanish AC?

No, I think it would still count as an Orlando station.

WJRR and WTKS are licensed to Cocoa Beach and count as Orlando (or at least they did, I think CC may have had to somehow reclassify JRR).

Aside from that, I don't think Cox has any intention of doing a DBO simulcast.

I hear Jessica Reyes was the sole survivor among the air talent.

She is also the only non Caribbean Hispanic.Look for a format that will cater to the Orlando Mexican population. I don't see it lasting long if that is the case under PPM.

Epi Colon and Super Martinez will be on air today on 1030 AM on Quedate con Miguel-

The rumor I always here is Salem buying it and putting a CCM "Fish" format on the air to go against Z. However, now that Z's signal is so killer, I am not sure this would still be a wise move.

It should be noted that Entravision paid Mega Communications a little over $24 million to acquire WNUE in 2007. It should be further noted that WNUE has a pending application to change its COL from a Titusville C1 to a Deltona C2 as that community's first service. This somewhat improves the serviceable 60dbu over Orlando although WNUE will not have a full market signal.

THAT SITE NEARLY CRASHED MY COMPUTER AND WOULD NOT LET GO.

That wasn't a site link, but a link directly to the streaming audio feed -- intended for a media player to open. Most computers know how to open those on their own..
