I noticed that even though WNVT and WNVC (Mhz Networks) were shut down via the spectrum auction and Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation profited handsomely from turning in spectrum, they may be back on DC cable via CPBC's nearby transmitters.
WNVT has applied to be shared with WCVE-TV Richmond and re-licensed to Spotsylvania Courthouse. WNVC will be shared with WHTJ Charlottesville (itself a WCVE repeater) and re-licensed to Culpeper. Both of these new cities of license are on the fringe of coverage for their respective stations, but it is clearly a ploy to get at least 2 Mhz feeds back on cable must-carry rules in the DC metro as both cities are in the DC TV market.
Does anybody know if this has been approved or will pass FCC muster? If so, is there an expected date this will take place? Since they will be cut down from 10-12 subchannels between the two stations to just a couple, what besides Mhz World will end up on this new WNVC/WNVT?
