That's weird.
WNVY is a daytimer that is infamous for bleading into telephones around it's transmitter site.
Pensacola Christian Radio owned this station as part of a cluster of 4 AMs and 1 FM in Pensascola. Recently they have picked up an AM in Mobile and have filed to move WASG from Pensacola to Mobile. The sale of this station shouldn't be a loss for the cluster beacuse they are almost always simulcasting the same religious programing on all of their AM stations which just happen to cover the same area.
WNVY's (previous) owner, Michael Glinter, has been buying radio stations recently in south Alabama and I believe he has filed several applications for new AM stations. It's not common for a religious cluster to sell off stations. I wonder if his new stations going up in the area are putting him over the ownership limit or if he's finally run short on cash?
I suppose it's a given that the new owner will continue with a religious format on WNVY.
I noticed in the filing that Michael Glinter picked up Low Power TV station W39BP from Pensacola Christian College at some point. W39BP has the best signal of any low power TV station in Pensacola but it's been off the air for nearly 10 years. With 2 full power religious TV stations in the area, I wonder what they have planned for channel 39?
