WNVY - Pensacola getting two translators?

This might be interesting. Dunno yet.

The other site listed the sale of Hale's 92.3 translator up in Brewton to Wilkins.
Wilkins now has a Mattoon Waiver to move 92.3 to Pensacola in order to translate co-owned WNVY.

Strange thing is WDWR's 95.3 translator (also in Brewton) already has a Mattoon Waiver to move to Pensacola in order to translate WNVY.

Would that mean both translators would have to carry WNVY for the first 3 years or can those translators with waivers be easily transferred to other local AMs?

How does Hale's 97.1 translator get a new mother out of this equation? That must be the end game here.

Pretty sure Mattoon waivers are effectively so long as the FM translates an AM. I don't think it had to translate the same AM, but I'm not an FCC lawyer. So, it's possible that I'm wrong.

Not having looked at the signal contours, is it possible WNVY could make use of two FM translators? There are some isolated situations of AM's that use multiple FM translators.

Wilkins owns WNVY and WVTJ in Pensacola. It seems strange that the 92.3 CP wasn't tied to WVTJ.
Wilkins does have a translator for one of their Mobile, AL stations.

As far as a Pensacola AM using two translators, that would only make sense if one was covering from Milton or Navarre with the other signal covering from Downtown Pensacola. That seems like it would be a smart move for WNRP or WEBY.
I believe both 92.3 and 95.3 have CPs for the same Cantonment area tower which is too far from the population center to be viable for a translator.

The other factor is WDWR owns 95.3 with the Matton married to WNVY but WDWR already has a non-waivered translator on 103.3. Change 95.3's waiver to WDWR and WDWR could sell off Pensacola's best FM translator signal to someone with an HD-2 to feed it and move WDWR to 95.3.

Still doesn't give me a clue how Hale plans to get 97.1 adopted.

Ground conductivity is so bad down on the coast that two translators in a place like Pensacola aren't usually necessary. WNVY is 15 kW but it doesn't seem to get out very far. Wilkins also owns 610 WVTJ, so maybe they have plans to move one over to that station?

Going back and reading our simultainus posts, Zach, something obvious jumped out at me.

Does Wilkins ever sell? If the next deal turns out to be Hale purchasing WVTJ... that would fill the hole in the Ticket puzzle.

If Hale's next move involves trading WEVG Evergreen for WVTJ Pensacola. It seems like a win-win for both parties.
