WNWR and WFYL

Seems like WNWR and WFYL have disappeared

Don't know if either is permanent.

WNWR was bought by the company that owns WHAT, and they were supposed to move WNWR to WHAT's tower. Not sure if that's still in the works.

And I believe in a different thread, someone pointed out that WFYL was broadcasting from some temporary tower. They still have a website and are streaming online though.

WFYL... I was on the turnpike the other day, there was content coming out of 1180, Dana Loesch. She’s a staple on there. But the signal was so weak that it didn’t last more than a few miles going east to west. It was once much stronger. Nevertheless, I was curious so I dialed it in.

WNWR was testing at one point with I think 250 watts. It's supposed to be spanish but who knows what'll happen next.

In terms of WFYL -- I know someone who has plans to buy it if he gets a deal.

Buying WFYL is like burning money in the campfire in the background or flushing it down the shitter...... the station has no translator, and to buy one/move it/build it would cost more than its worth for them, its will always be a daytimer. Plus having to find another tower site will be expensive.

Could you break even and keep the station on the air? sure, maybe... could you get rich, have much of a staff? Nope.

This is probably one of those stations that would've potentially been better off wherever it originally came form (I forget where, but wasn't it moved from Central PA in to the Philly area by Alex Langer?)
