The lines between forms of journalism continue to blur as print, audio, video and digital media companies move into each others turf.
Following those lines, New York Public Radio has announced the appointment of San Francisco Chronicle Executive Editor Audrey Cooper as Editor in Chief. Cooper will oversee all local news operations for NYPR including Public News/Talk 820 WNYC/93.9 WNYC-FM, Classical 105.9 WQXR and Gothamist.com. She will oversee the radio and digital newsrooms as well as programming for the local talk shows: Brian Lehrer Show and All of It. News Director Sean Bowditch, Gothamist Executive Editor Jen Chung, and Head of Live Radio Megan Ryan will all report to Cooper, who will start in her new position on July 20.
