Now this:
Today, New York Public Radio, licensee of WNYC AM applied to the FCC for an experimental authorization to test the all-digital MA3 format, on Sunday December 8th.
The test will be run that one day, and perhaps extend an hour into the nighttime period. WNYC AM an operates at 820 kHz with 10kW-D, 1kW-N, DA-2 from the WMCA tower site in Kearny, NJ.
Reps from the NAB and Xperi will be on hand to monitor the operation, evaluate the MA3 format in an urban environment, and see how it may interact with co-channel WSHE in Frederick, MD.
