WNYC AM vs FM IBOC aircheck

I've posted these over on the "HD" board for what little good that will do.

I chose this station because it is what I listen to, but more importantly, this show is live, local -no compressed net feeds or storage and it is a simulcast so direct comparison of AM vs FM is possible.

It starts with the FM iboc then switches to AM and after a buffering period to AM iboc then back to FM which buffers into iboc and finally returns to AM.

The radio is an Acurian set to "normal" Reception in NYC east side of Manhattan with the set showing three out of five "bars" of signal.

I don't suppose anyone knows of any file storage sites like sendspace that *doesn't* require scripts (like javascript) to work, do they?

I wonder why WNYC-AM shuts HD off at night. Could it be to squeeze out more range out of their 1,000 watts night-time power? :-\

Or is the signal so weak that I can't hear the sideband hash where I am (immediately next to the GW Bridge).

Now that I'm again paying a little more attention to stations' audio processing, I notice that they do have more of a natural sound than WCBS (which cranks the midrange to absurd levels, I think), or WINS.

Doesn't WCBS honk though?
Thanks, Steph, for pointing out this ridiculous audio situation. What'n a heck are they listenening on?
