WNYG sold

I already wrote my eulogy on WNYG in the previous post on the station. Come on, this stations like a condemed prisoner waiting on death row (and that sentence was given back in 1994). Do these people honestly think that spending all that money on the license, then moving the station out east, buying land to put a tower (or two) up is really going to be worth it? And for what, another Spanish station? Let it die already.

I think the whole reason for moving out to Medford is to diplex from the WLIM AM site, thereby negating the cost of towers and land. Did see a whole engineering study on it, possibly on the FCC web site.

What happened to the building and where is WGBB going, they share the place right?

Arthur Liu wanted to boost the signal of WNSW 1430 Newark and so he either had to take WNYG dark or find someone to buy it and move it. I also think he was one station over the limit. Radio Cantico Nuevo was already LMAing WNSW and WNYG from him. I think this will be the end of Radio Cantico Nuevo. There's no way Pastor Selgado has the money to build out the CP. A friend of mine knows someone at Davidson Media Group which owns WXCT in Hartford and was told Radio Cantico Nuevo can barely pay the LMA fee for WXCT.

That "fiend" is you, isn't it? Former WXCT intern extraordinaire Jay Clark! ;D
