When did WNYG start it's Christian format? I just tried to pick it up here in West Haven, CT, and the signal is barely discernable. (With my tuned loop antenna, I can make out some of the songs, but it's not easy.)
The Spirit of NY Christian Format began early in January of 2002.

When Multi-Cultural Bought WNYG in late 2000 or early 2001 (I forget which) they flipped to CHR and ran it as STUDENT RADIO 1440, a training ground for young people who were interested in working in radio. That folded at the end of 2001 and they went to the typical Asian Formats the Multi-Cultural owned stations normally run. Then in early 2002, they LMAd the station to the group who's running "The Spirit of New York" with the CCM format.
