Is there a reason why WNYU and WFDU didn’t just choose one transmitter site for both stations and just share time and the expenses for running the station
Their coverage areas mostly overlap by about 80%
but their transmitter sites about 7 miles apart.
(Armstrong Tower - Alpine NJ for WFDU, and
The Bronx - University Heights for WNYU.)
Both are directional Class B1 signals (protecting?) and both have a coverage range of about 20 miles with a decent signal.
