I don't know if this comparison will fly, but here goes:
In the late 70's in Philly, there was a woman who had an infamous tantrum while doing a newscast or perhaps during a commercial break--some of her staffers as a joke put together these outbursts to a piece of classical music--I think Hungarian Rhapsody. About a year later she would join a major network.
The station--KYW-TV 3
The network at the time--NBC
The woman--Jessica Savitch
Having seen a TV special about her and the tantrum that was unprofessional. Of course in 1983, she was killed in a car crash.
In Jodi Applegate's defense, I would say how would she know this was all a setup by a bunch of two-bit internet LOSERS? I think Fox should sue these Opie & Dopey wannabes--for, well, I am unsure--but some kind of defamation of character.
Look Jodi Applegate can be a goofball, I think people in Boston will attest to that, but she has her priorities.
Then again, this harkens back to when I worked in radio at my so-called "hometown station" when I blew my stack--not on-air--but in the newsroom when I couldn't take a co-workers jokes anymore. What I should've done was report these incidents to my News Director at the time. I guess I got the last laugh, as that news director started acting diva-ish regarding working hours and was given the gate. The new ND is someone I worked with at another station and was quite comfortable with. Now if only they could get rid of that punk-@$$ whose sophomoric jokes took me back to my nightmarish days at school! Even if they did, I probably won't work at the station again--except for board work!
