I'm living down in the Little Rock, AR area and, occassionally, check out the PJ Star website and happened to notice that both WOAM and WPMJ were going dark. Doesn't Bob Kelly realize that they're worth more with a signal than without? Anyway, I worked at WXCL (1350) in the 70's and early 80's, then went to WTXR (94.3) country in Chillicothe in mid 80's. Lately, I've been doing some weather work for the Radio Forecast Network and provided weekday afternoon forecasts for both WOAM and WPMJ. Hated to see them go dark. After working in Peoria radio for many years before moving to Arkansas, there are still some that remember me from those days at WSIV, WXCL, WTXR, WIRL, WSWT and WPBG. Plus, it's a shame audiences in Central Illinois are missing out on the programming that each provided. Usually, those niche type formats may not have large audiences today but the audiences they do have tend to be loyal. Now, hopefully, someone will come along and buy them at 'fire sale' prices. Wish I had the dollars to do it!
