WOBM-FM

LOL. if they're gonna do that, why not just reduce the transmitter power. or... better idea yet, off with the IBOC signal for stations? (Yes I am aware that WOBM isn't IBOC.

WOBM-FM can't be turned off. Its primary use is to provide audio torture to psychopaths, child rapists, and other societal castaways.

"Mother of God.....NO....NOT that Celine Dion song again....PLEASE...I'LL BE GOOD!"

...well I'm not any of those things and I'm still subjected to the torture in the dentist office and every other waiting room in the area.

I know..I've had to endure it myself! I'm always grateful if a business is playing ANY other station. As you make your way toward Manahawkin, the somewhat more palatable WFPG is heard with more frequency.

Can someone explain to me, what is the definition of IBOC!

IBOC was the original name for what is now called HD Radio.

IBOC = In Band On Channel ... meaning the digital data rides along with
the analog signal, on either side of it, and it fits into the same space on
the dial that the analog signal does. Yes, I know people don't think it
does ... but IT DOES fit into the space the station using it is entitled to.

HD means nothing, just a name - similar enough to HDTV to grab some
of the publicity.

As far as the dentist havin on WOBM, isn't that true everyware? If its not Smooz Jazz (A dieing breed on radio), but heard in most dentests offices, then its AC. 'corse in Philly its WBEB. up in Allentown WLEV. JBR in willmington. AC must be hugely popular in any markit for businesses. Why is AC pumped everyware? If its not the radio in the store, its a store music system that is AC. Though I think Dial Electronics has on Rhythmic AC 106.1 WIFX. lol.
