WOBM's Election Night Coverage

Did anyone catch the election night coverage on WOBM last night? Great job by the news team over there. It's what local radio is all about. The other stations don't sound as good. Keep up the good work!

Indeed, WOBM's election coverage (and local news for that matter) was a thing of beauty at one time. The original owners insisted that. BE BIG!

I gotta disagree with that claim. WOBM's election night coverage this year wasn't that spectacular. All it WOBM did were a updates every half hour, and the updates only lasted a few minutes. And the reporters did taped reports, not live

Underground Progressive Radio however did a live two hour show featuring local and statewide results. In addition to the regular anchor giving live updates, there was also a correspondent who reported live from the Democratic headquarters every few minutes. Plus they have live interviews with reporters and politicians throughout the area. And they had a phone number where people could call in.

So let's see, Underground Progressive Radio is 100 milliwatts and reaches a few hundred people,
and has no known audience, while WOBM-FM has thousands of listeners, and a news department
that serves them, and knows what the audience wants to hear, which isn't wall to wall election
results.

Underground Progressive Radio does stream on the internet.

I do agree that WOBM has a much larger reach, but if their audience were to hear the other broadcast, I'd think they would like it much better.
