OK so I understand they feel the need to dedicate over 10% of thier yearly programming to a one day event but in past years they have left the Sunday AM stuff alone so where the bleep is Beatle Brunch with Joe Johnson today? I get Neil Diamond (gag) singing fecal mater.

Thank God I saw Brad Delph and BeatleJuice friday night.

I know that Beatle Brunch is also on 104.9 after the gardening show, but my home receiver wont get the signal.

I went to turn on X-mas music on ODS last night and they were playing The Bee Gee's doingn something from Saturday Night Fever. They must be pretty liberal in what they consider X-mas music.

They must be letting Barry Scott do his Saturday Night Dance Party thing... I wonder if the Lost 45's will be on tonight.

Good thing XM streams most of thier stuff

It's quite possible that shows like Lost 45s could be pre-empted but I'd think they'd let Barry on--at least to do "Lost in Christmas" and his yearly wrapup shows. It's all money--while some are driven away by the all Yule,
others like it (including stores that might pipe it in)--gives exposure to the ads, and even a small spike in
the ratings. Yes, while some do take their presets off this time of year (it's too EARLY!) others will suddenly
find themselves tuning in...

WODS is officially off the preset in my daily driver, I forgot to change it on the motorcycles radio yesterday... hmmm I'm starting to think I need XM on the bikes too

WPLM should be changing over any moment now, but I rarely listen to them anymore so I probably won't notice.

Be sure to leave WRKO off your dial forever, Var.. You wouldn't want to accidentally tune in and hear an
exciting Red Sox game next year...

Well, WODS did well in the ratings last year, so why not keep going?

I'll admit though, it's too early. I prefer it when stations begin Christmas music Thanksgiving Weekend.

<<the usual dreck at WRKO and WODS at Christmas means two 50,000 watt stations are useless on your dial.>>

There are a *lot* more than 2 useless stations on the dial ::)

i don't mind x-mas music on 'ods. at least something different from different decades and true variety of pop stars is heard. plus, their sales people appreciate the extra dollars. it's good for radio business all around. moreover, keeps intersest on the local radio as opposed on-line or sat and new and old listeners are pretty psyched. i think 'ods does a good job with it every year. there, i said something positive.

Joe Vig exclusive - WRKO goes Christmas?

Lost 45s

Tonight's Lost 45s is "regular" programming and NOT Christmas music. Havent heard Barry mention anything about next week or whenever Christmas music might take over the show or pre-empt it.

I think Barry usually does "Lost in Christmas" in part or entire shows just before Christmas, and also at the end of the year he does some kind of special feature like the top lost 45 hits countdown etc.
I think in the past he's also run a montage of #1 hits from every decade (American Top 40 used to do that in the past)

In past years WRKO _has_ gone all Christmas on Christmas Eve and maybe part of Christmas day, too,
playing some kind of Christmas music package (syndicated). This yr Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday so I'm
not sure what they'll do.

They must be pretty liberal in what they consider X-mas music.

Considering they play that awful George Michael song, with other assorted new[er] pop rubbish masquerading as Christmas music .....

OK so when will they play Run DMC's Christmas in Hollis?
