WODS suggestions

Keep ito and Karen Blake, they're pretty sharp and sound fresh.

Paula Street is quite good.

JJ Wright needs to retire. Or Geritol.

That guy at night I listened for quite awhile last night) can't seem to manage the computor very well. Songs started, stopped. Liners running in a weird way. Maybe a software issue. The times he did talk he just did a generic liner, talked about taking requests..he took one, and even then sounded like he was reading a liner.

The music mix is awful. Don't play Peter and Gordon. Don't play the 60s.

70's and 80s. Sponsors will like that. An younger-older audience.

Ouch :(

BTW, it's ZITO and Karen Blake.

Gee WODS did pretty well in the September PPM's, granted they are 6+ numbers we get to see, but WODS must be doing something right in PM drive to get that position in the ratings.

Their night guy is a syndicated show from Tom Kent - also heard on KOOL Phoienx & WOMC Detroit...not a bad sounding show, but just very generic sounding.

I listen to WODS online moreso than my more local stations (WOGL/CBS-FM/WJRZ), usually during PM drive & overnights, and the music mix is right where it should be. Throwing a evergreen 60's tune in (a Do Yo Love Me/Respect/Twist & Shout) keeps the station from burning thru the 70's & early 80's tunes too quickly - and I can say I haven't heard WODS playing any "clunker" 60's (Gary Lewis & The Playboys/Hermans Hermits etc). WCBS-FM & WOGL still play 60's songs, and their PPM ratings are the best they have ever been. Young'uns like me know of the tunes from being in so many hit movies (Dirty Dancing, Ghost, etc), and you can play them next to 80's songs without it sounding like a trainwreck.

As far a J.J....he doesn't sound like an old fart or a "classic puker". He can still hit the post like the best of em, and genuinely sounds like he enjoys what he does. Plus anyone who digs out soul tunes to play once in a while is aces in my book.

Brian Thomas knows what he's doing with the Classic Hits outlets - all are very PPM friendly, have allot of personality, and have a fun, upbeat vibe that the classic top 40 stations had, but with a contemporary presentation.

Does anyone know if Dale Dorman is still with the station doing weekends? The past few Saturday mornings that I've checked, he hasn't been on.

I'd like to see WODS go all Halloween music in the next few days! And maybe they'll move their "Christmas Oldies" to one of their HD channels or do a stream on the net.

hmmm, maybe hire me and turn off the bird.

Ha..good point.

Yeah those newcomers at CBS, when will they learn?

We can all only aspire to be JJ Wright.

if you're not on the air, you can only aspire to aspire to be JJ Wright!

103.3 AMP FM after Christmas 2009 (I wish!)

What type of format is AMP?

WODS, good ratings and making money, what you say we blow it up and go CHR.
I take it you didn't major in business. :)

Actually, back when CBS was owned by CBS that's exactly what they did, they blew up WEEI-FM, which was financially doing well, and created WHTT which had a swift rise and an even swifter fall and in enough trouble to be replaced by "music too good to play on the radio" and WMRQ. Same frequency, too.

I think they flipped WEEI-FM because soft-rock Magic came on the scene and all of their ratings went away. At least that's my memory.

JJ WRIGHT is ONE of THE BEST AIR TALENTS in THE USA
