WOFM Wausau flips again

Rhythmic CHR "Wild 94-7" WOFM Wausau joined its sister WLYD in flipping to the classic hits/Hot AC format as "94-7 The Peak" (Named after Rib Mountain/Grante Peak obviously) at Midnight this morning.

Last Wild song Eminem - Just Lose It

First Peak song John Denver - Rocky Mountain High

talk about short lived.

October-March.

www.947thepeak.com

Just a personal observation, you wouldn't beleive the feeling that went through my body when I heard Eminem crossfade into a liner into John Denver.

So relaxing.

Wow, another flip at midnight, just like Wild in Green Bay IIRC. Midwest could (legitimately) cite the declining ratings for Wild in Green Bay as reason enough for that flip. But they didn't give Wild in Wausau a chance, and that, to me, sounds like Midwest no longer has faith in the Rhythmic CHR format, regardless of which market it was in or how much ratings/revenue it could've generated.

BTW, you will notice that the websites for both Peak and Bay have the "Guaranteed Music Variety" monikers, not to mention the same type of logo style (as if someone drew them in with a pencil). Wanna bet the playlists are in the same sequential order as well?

I've heard all three stations (WROE, WOFM, WZBY) and even the FEW liners they ever play are the same, playlists are the same, airstaff is pretty much the same, same people VT for all 4 stations with this format.

Wild was a complete copy of WLYD. Playlist and all.

The Peak site www.947thepeak.com is www.957thebridge.com (look at the address on the bottom of the Peak site)

Not sure about the Peak/Bay playlist wise.

Not true, I have heard WROE and WOFM, they are different. WOFM does NOT have vters yet, it is having a "sneak preview" of the format right now, without djs. The playlists ARE NOT the same. They are playing similar music, and have the same libraries, but they are programmed by their own PDs in each market, with their own playlists. What Josh states is NOT true. Even with WOFM's good ratings, I don't think it billed too well at all, just from the amount of commercials I heard. I mean, how can you support a station with ONE stopset an hour with 2 30 second ads in that stopset, sometimes even one? I hear the business community of Wausau didn't take to it well AT ALL.
