WOGL playing "Macarena"

First time I hear this song in this station, they are definetely tweaking their playlist!

P.d. If someone from WOGL is reading this, the RDS shows "Los del rios", the correct name of the group is "Los del rio" 😀

Wow. I thought "Macarena" was one of those songs that classic hits stations would avoid when stepping into the '90s, a song everyone grew sick of when it was current and never wanted to hear again. Is it really testing well today?

I've been to a few weddings lately, and you should see how much fun people have on the dance floor when that song starts. Not that it's indicative of anything, but some folks seem to love it.

It's indicative of an open bar. Play the Hokey Pokey for a wedding full of drunks, and they'll run people over en route to the dance floor.

Or The Electric Slide. This is why I prefer divorce parties to weddings these days. There's more of them to go to and I'd much rather hear Joy Division than disco any day.

Well, eventually stations did break-down and play Timothy. So......

They are doing A to Z again this week, so I'm guessing that's the reason for the airing of the Macarena. Looking online, they have added 90's songs to the A to Z. About time.
