WOGL Top 500 Party Songs Countdown

Just heard all in the same hour Sam Cooke, Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs, and The Safaris. Good to know they still have these songs in thier library. Haven't really heard much of those on 98.1 since Hy Lit.

I don't listen to WOGL because there mix sucks & No 50's But I was passing by it and heard a song that I liked and keep it on 2 hours later its still on!! they are playing everything from the 1950 -1980 I wish they would play this music all the time they would be #1!!!!

I would say about roughly 200 of the 500 "party songs" are a stretch. I mean, starting with the first one at 500, "Abracadabra" - how is that a party song?

In fact, virtually the first bunch of songs on the countdown were all uptempo 80's songs not usually heard on WOGL. I reckon if its uptempo, it qualifies as a "party" song. Horrible logic, IMHO.

"Abracadabra" surprisingly made the Dance and R&B charts, so maybe that's why it's considered a "party" record.

Having worked in 3 different record/cd stores, i've heard the term "party" used for anything that's been danced to in a club or is uptempo, so that must be their reasoning.
