A friend in Schuylkill County gets 98.1 on cable. Recently the signal has become distorted. Cable company claims it's not originating with them. Has anyone noticed the same problem over-the-air?
I know Schuylkill County well. Your friend must have Wire Tele-View, a dinky cable company in Pottsville. At one time, it was fairly common for cable companies in remote areas like that to offer FM programming from big cities, but it's rare now. Wire Tele-View may be one of the last that offers such a service. Here's the link http://www.wtvaccess.com/fm.htm
Anyway, to answer your question, I think Wire Tele-View is full of baloney. ;D WOGL sounds fine over-the-air. I'll tell you a story about Wire Tele-View. I was just recently visiting a friend in the Pottsville Hospital. The hospital has Wire Tele-View and I was watching Channel 69 out of Allentown and it kept cutting out and saying "Channel 69.1 No Signal" much like when you have an antenna and are watching DTV and it cuts out. They apparently are using an antenna to pick up the nearby TV stations and can't even get a reliable signal for WFMZ. It's nice to see small companies like this existing, but wow. LOL
and they still have Y-100, 96.5 the Point, Sunny 104.5, and 2 different 'MGKs from different places.
But the disclaimer, "Notice: Call letters and stations may change without notice."
Hmm. I know about them, but am not as familiar with them as Wire Tele-View. I guess they too offer FM service. Schuylkill County always has been 20 years behind on everything. LOL Well, again, I don't know too much about them, but if they operate anything like Wire Tele-View, I can see why your friend would have trouble listening to WOGL.
