During a little FM DX session last night, I found 98.1 WOGL. It's a great station. I enjoyed listening to that guy that is on overnights. I checked the website and assume it is the Rockin Ron guy. I liked his style and personality. The music sounded like any other oldies station, but they did play some older songs than other stations I've heard. Good job WOGL on playing oldies!

Where were you listening from? Interested to see what oldies stations were in your area that you were comparing it to. Ron Cade has been on in the market for about 30 years, and has done an all-Elvis show weekends since 1978 on various country & oldies stations in Philadelphia & Trenton, NJ, most recently on WOGL for many years. Interesting you say the music sounds like any oldies station, because people here seem to think OGL leans heavier on soul/Motown than other stations.

Now that I think about it, they did play quite a bit of motown and soul, mixed in with what you would hear normally. For the past few years, my area was stuck with CBS FM, which played too much disco. WOGL sounds great. Oh, and I was listening in Pomptain Plains, NJ. There are a few AM oldies stations here.
 
WOGL is much better than WCBS is ever was. And after more than 18 years in the format, they just keep getting better.

This is no surprise being that the station is based in Philadelphia. There's a reason why there are 10 trillion hip hop, R&B, Rap, Soul, Funk, Jazz, ETC. Stations in Philadelphia.
Just an outsiders point of view(meaning I don't live in philly but have been there many times)
