WOKV 690 Jacksonville heard in Michigan

Last night right around sunset I heard News/Talk 690 WOKV from Jacksonville in Southern Michigan.

The station had a poor to fair signal with no fading. I heard at least three mentions of the WOKV call letters in the two minutes I listened. At 837 miles, they aren't my longest AM catch by any means, but for sunset DX it comes in at a pretty close second place. First place is another Florida station, WMGG 820 from Largo, FL.

Other stations heard yesterday:

980 WTEM Washington, DC- Sports Talk 980- 4:45 P
1110 WBT Charlotte, NC- News/Talk- 4:55 P
1110- Religious talk- Abruptly cut to night power at 5:00 on the dot!

Congrats on a great catch! The aurora must be doing its magic in Michigan. Last I heard 690 in Jax was during the hurricane that hit Charleston SC in about 1990, they were oldies WPDQ at the time and were on high power for the Charleston area's benefit. This was heard in Ft. Wayne..

Your 1110 may or not be WGNZ..I'd think they'd have until 5:15 to sign off (that's our time in Springfield).
(A bird tells me to have you check for Christmas music on 1600..a little tower work going on ;)
