There was an article recently in The Waterbury Republican-American Newspaper that stated that Wolcott wants its own Access Channel from SKYE 13 the Public Access Provider serving Waterbury, Wolcott, and Plymouth/Terryville. I can't find the article online (not that it matter since they charge for online content anyway). Wolcott is complaining that they're not getting enough airtime from SKYE 13 and certain things they want televised live can't be done because something else (usually from Waterbury) is being televised live. Wolcott goes on to say that people in Wolcott do not care about Elections, Government and School Meetings from Waterbury. SKYE 13 claims they can't give Wolcott it's own channel.
I call complete BS that SKYE 13 can not give Wolcott its own channel because COX Meriden gives each of the 3 towns it serves 2 channels of their own.
In Southington people get Southington Town Meetings on Channel 14.
In Cheshire people get Cheshire Town Meetings, etc on Channel 14.
In Meriden people get Meriden City Meetings, etc on Channel 14.
In Southington people get Board of Ed Meetings and other school related stuff on Channel 16 Southington High School TV.
Cheshire gets their own stuff on Channel 16 as does Meriden.
And COX still has the their Public Access Channel on Channel 15 that serves the 3 towns.
I don't see why SKYE 13 in Waterbury can't do the same.
SKYE 13 the Main Public Access Channel for the 3 (or however many towns it covers)
Channel 16 The Government Channel - 1 for Wolcott, 1 for Waterbury, and 1 for Plymouth/Terryville
Channel 96 The Educational Channel - 1 for Wolcott, 1 for Waterbury, and 1 for Plymouth/Terryville
