WOLD-LP and WTC

I'm sure you've seen this on All Access:
BEST MEDIA, INC. is selling W236CT/EDISON, NJ to SRN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. in exchange for SRN turning in its license for low power Oldies WOLD-LP/WOODBRIDGE, NJ plus $50,000. W236CT, like another BEST MEDIA-owned translator W300CZ/EWANSVILLE, NJ, is fed WOLD-LP programming via WPRB-HD3/PRINCETON, NJ; WOLD-LP is co-channel with W300CZ.

From what I've read, the deal is that the 107.9 low power station will go off the air, so that the 107.9 translator can move - maybe to the WTC, or at least closer to NYC with higher power. W300CZ-FM Radio Station Coverage Map

The WOLD-LP would still be heard on the 95.1 translator and use one of WPRB's HD channels - essentially turning the station into a commercial operation.

Has any of this happened yet - at least the first part concerning WOLD-LP? Are they still broadcasting on 107.9? If so, have they changed anything on air to promote the 95.1 frequency more?

Can anyone confirm the possible more to the new World Trade Center of the 107.9 currently licensed to Ewansville NJ? I guess they'd like to be like the current 104.7, extremely lower power from the tallest building around.

i imagine at the very least the COL will need to change. From Ewansville a strong clear NYC signal like WLTW is tough to catch, much less a Low Power transmitter.

The translator's originating station is WPRB-HD3. WPRB's 54 dB contour doesn't even reach NYC. Or maybe WOLD would be also retransmitted by a NYC area HD channel, serving as the new originating station?

It does not matter that WPRB does not reach NYC. The translator will not be re-broadcasting WOLD or WPRB-HD3, and the signal will likely originate elsewhere. Programming will probably be leased, just like the 104.7 translator.

I have gotten WPRB in HD from the top of the World Trade Center with a portable HD radio from the south side of the observation deck. The translator would have to be fed over the air because it’s so far from WPRB. But a nice Yagi at 1776 feet pointed towards Princeton would be able to get WPRB in HD reliably.

But, as WTC is outside the WPRB's 54 dBu contour, the translator would have to be non-fill-in, which means lower power than for fill-in translators.

Do you think pulse 87 Or EDM station is coming to 107.9???

Pulse 87 does not qualify for an FM frequency. They are not a licensed radio station.
I would think that the lessee of the proposed 107.9 translator is probably interested in running a successful operation. If that is the case, EDM would certainly not be a good option given the format’s consistently poor performance in NY and other markets.

My guess is that it will be a niche non-English language format.

WOLD-LP has effectively been operating as a commercial station for years now, including full-blown ads with "calls to action", and Dr. Lederman infomercials.
