WOLD-LP

Are they still broadcasting on 107.9? If so, have they changed anything on air to promote the 95.1 more? I know they are giving up their low power station.

I noticed that the LP was off the air but the same programming is on the translator. There’s no more interference between the two 107.9’s. I think they still promote 107.9 as it’s going to be over a year till it can move to the World Trade Center.

I barely heard 107.9 thru the static from the Sayreville area last week (checked both 95.1 and 107.9 and heard the same song) but 95.1 was much stronger...The signal isn’t from Edison anymore, but rather East Windsor (W300CZ), so it’s hard to hear it above New Brunswick now, however the new CP will move 107.9 to the East Brunswick area.

Not quite...

107.9 WOLD-LP is still on the air from its Edison site.

107.9 W300CZ Ewansville is a separate signal. That one is rebroadcasting the same programming off of WPRB-HD3 just like 95.1 W236CT.

WOLD-LP will not sign-off or surrender its license until SRN's consummation of its purchase of 95.1 is approved by the FCC and the deal closes.

I was also in Edison Last week, and heard almost dead air on 107.9 but the signal was fine on 95.1...Just to be sure, I listened thru the static to find any trace of the same song on both channels. Travelling thru from South Carolina, it's not the same dial it was 20 years ago when I lived there, thats for sure...

Wow so the oldies will be gone one of these days? I've heard it on WPRB-HD3 but its in mono. Is it in mono on 107.9, too? I can't get that from here as my 107.9 is Rhythmic Oldies Classix 107.9.
