Wolf Fired From PYX 106??

I can confirm that Wolf is still with Clear Channel.

You may have been misled by work being done on his website. Besides that, it's business as usual.

No news to report............................ yet.

However, they are having widespread firings, including big name ,and paycheck air personalities across the country, probably to cut costs pending the sale of Clear Channel.

That's very true, but CC is NOT unloading any "talent" holding an employment contract. Having to pay off a big 3 or 5 year contract is not cost-effective. Clear Channel is all about being cost-effective. So unless anyone's contract is coming up for renewal, and as long as they are achieving the performance requirements of their contract, they don't have to worry, just yet.

I don't believe Wolf's contract expires any time soon.

I wonder if clear channel going dark has anything to do with this..

Here is a perfect example of someone who does not know the facts. Clear Channel is NOT going dark. They are just not being traded publicly once the deal goes through. Not sure if the name of the company will change, but they will still have control over 2/3 of the radio properties. To say that "Clear Channel is selling" is an ambiguous statement. To say they are "going dark" is just plain dumb.

The REAL story

Why didn't Mark McGuire chase the real Radio story. In the latest ratings out this week, even Jay and Ben at WKLI 100.9 beat out the Wolf in the Wolf's own prime money demographic. As usual, Mark McGuire is in his normal "out of touch" mode and has no idea of what is going on in the Albany Media. Instead, Mark is relying on blogs for stories. Mark is a joke to the press.

Mark McGuire get's the Big "L" for loser. Shame on you Mark for not knowing what is going on.

Re: One for the reporter

Mark and I know each other. I reported it for a reason. I'm glad he wasn't fired. There are alot of places like this (radio-info) that report stuff..It just so happens radio-info is #1..

By "that stuff" do you mean BS supposition, never based on fact? What have you really "reported"?

And "#1" according to what? #1 place to go with rumors? #1 place for you to try to set fires?

As for the ratings story, I'll bet they put it in the Saturday paper. If not then, Monday. I don't get a paper copy of the TU, it may be in another section.....

True, it seems lately Mark is just "phoning it in"......I think his interests lie elsewhere. At least Sarge Blotto gave a crap.
