Entercom said that they will make an announcement reguarding on-air personalities next month. I wonder if they'll be live and local or voicetracked?<P ID="signature">______________

I wonder if anyone cares at this point since the station will drop country and go AC in another year or two when they tire of taking on KMPS!

KWJJ/Portland "The Wolf" appears to be doing well (the top two stations are country, plus another bottomfeeder). Are there live jocks there?

Well, they appear to be trying to hire someone...

On-Air Talents
100.7 The Wolf

Entercom Seattle has just launched a brand new radio station. Currently seeking play makers for all position. Mid Day, PM Drive, Nights and all part time. Seeking high energy talent willing to work and play hard. This is the biggest battle in country radio.

Contact Information:
If you have a winning track record and the goods to back it up send your resume and demo to Scott G. Mahalick Entercom Seattle 1100 Olive Way suite 1650 Seattle WA 98101. EOE. An Entercom application must be submitted to be considered for the position.

Notice the conspicuous absence of "mornings"?

Might they already have cowboy hats with R&M's names on them?

Now THAT would be funny, to be made to play out their contract at the Wolf, complete with sh*t kickin hick callers, imho would be a fate worse than being straight bought off!

I can see Robin with the chaw can ring in her jeans back pocket already!

No, there will be no R&M on the morning on the Wolf.
The new PD - Scott Mahalick is bringing in all new jocks with perhaps some exceptions for overnights & weekends.
Those part time slots will most likely go to locals but your key day parts will be jocked live, they are going to have a new local morning show - a 2 guy team with twangy accents.
I wouldn't be surprised if they have already hired or are just finishing up the loose ends on a mid day, afternoon drive & night time jocks.
You don't change format like they do and give yourself only 30 days to assemble your airstaff, it just isn't done.
There will be jocks on the air about the second week of january and the station will be jocked 24/7.
There will be no voicetracking, you may get a board op running things on the overnight until the third week of January into the final week but after that they will have a full airstaff.
Robin & John are done as are anyone that were in the programming dept. of 100.7 prior to the BIG announcement, they have told the board ops that they have a job until the middle of January after that you had better find something else within the station to do or look elsewhere.

I'd like to see Wynn Richards back on the air in Seattle...really enjoyed his time on KYCW. Last I heard he was PD over at a country station in eastern Wa.

Was the Buzz board oped 24/7? If so, my question is why

It'd be cool if they had Music with Moscowitz on the Wolf.. 7pm.. Sundays =)

Does it really matter who they get? It's country...in Seattle. They ought to start digging their grave now.

Why are people so quick to crap all over anything new that comes along in radio...remember everybody who thought that switching to Jack was a suicide mission for 96.5? Now they're number one in the money demo. I don't see The Wolf having that kind of success (at least not for awhile) but they certainly have a shot to be more successful than The Buzz was. There's a lot more to this market than Seattle - visit Snohomish, Monroe, Duvall, Carnation, Black Diamond, Sumner, Puyallup, Graham, Yelm and, of course, the infamous Enumclaw and you'll see why country can do as well in this market as any other (no, I don't work for Entercom).
