Wolf lost some claws

So Justin and Tara were definately gone today, leaving Smokey and Chris Sommer to hold down the morning
show on The Wolf. Now the question becomes do they leave it this way? Add someone, (another female), or blow the show up entirely? Would someone else that's at the station sound great on the morning show?

I'm wondering if Cumulus will pay anything to get good talent. Or if anyone that's currently there has an incentive to even want to be on the air there. Because it seems as if Cumulus is waay on the cheap.

Great example of a small minded, small market company fouling up a successful top 10 station. What happens when the Ticket contracts come up? If Greggo was really making $500,000 a year (Dallas Observer story), that payroll must be driving Cume-less crazy. And the Ticket is the only station left in that Dallas group having any success.

My sources tell me the ratings and revenue WERE there. A 4 person morning show: Bobby Mitchell, Tara, Dingo, Chris then Amy B, then Cody and Hollywood during the rest of the day.
They were there 2-3 years ago at best.

I just looked it up. They used to be a top 3 to a top 5 staztion persons 25-54. Now they're barely in the top 20.

When you drop from #3 or #4 to #the high teens (15-19) something's gotta give. Maybe it should be the GM, maybe it should be the PD (although they've gone through about half a dozen of those in the last 5 years), but at some point if morning drive ratings drop under 3 different PD's, isn't maybe time to look atthe morning show?

I wonder what will happen to the Front Porch now that Justin's gone. Does he get to take it with him or will Cumulus throw the "Intellectual Property" flag?

When I worked in Austin in the early 90's, KVET-FM had a "front porch" for remotes. So I don't think it's Justin's (or the Wolf's) to claim. KVET may have gotten the idea from someone else, as well. Don't know.

Simple: I think the current traffic guy at KSCS is a gonner now with Justin on the beach. Rebecca is toast too...KSCS will bring Tara on too...no brainer. Dorsey is getting old so he can't be there much longer...plus the new PD and OM/GM is totally revamping the entire station. Dorsey sounds out of place and he doesn't bring in the ratings anymore like he used to...in fact "Wake Up With the Wolf" has been beating him despite changing hands. How bout this: KSCS is sounding much better with the exception of Dorsey.

Sorry pal but Dorsey, no matter what KSCS was not achieving as a station , generally beat WOLF in the morning except for 18-34, which is improving. I just looked it up thru Fall 07 and i agree they are sounding much better as a station...but including Dorsey. He has recieved some coaching, better music and structure and IMO it shows. Good for them, he has a lot of equity here.

From allaccess.com today...

"CUMULUS Country KPLX (99.5 THE WOLF)/DALLAS midday co-host RYAN FOX tells ALL ACCESS that they are in need of Texas/Red Dirt music to bulk up their new library. They are looking for all past, present and future tunes...."

Wonder if they have figured out the current playlist is part of the problem?

I thought Ryan Fox did afternoon traffic? I am sure Justin took all his Texas Cd's with him. He was programming his own music on Sunday night.
