I posted about this months ago.

But that was when the show came back to free AM/FM.

Again, why does XM/Sirius keep buying up AM/FM content then positioning itself as a better service than AM/FM?? Amazing how much of the content they aren't just mirroring or copying, but downright rebroadcasting, and then charging a fee for it!! The talk stations are the worst but other stations do it too. Several of the channels being 24/7 refeeds of TV stations are the biggest joke ever on subscribers.

And why is there EVER an excuse for so much voicetracking on a national service? I can understand a 1kw AM station in Alabama or something at night but why a national satellite service?

Sat radio gets way too much credit.

Why?

A)The music varity is allot better

B)The jingles & presentation is classic Top 40 vs. the valium induced AC presentation that is dominant accross most non hit music stations

C)XM/Sirius have the power to do allot of artist interviews: Soul Street had one of The Dells on for about an hour, something that allot of stations dont do.

D)Allot of speciality shows - Harlem, Doo Wop Stop, The Doo Wop Special on Soul Street, etc...

E)If I wanted censored content, I'll watch ABC Family. XM's Up Yours is a great comedy channel

As far as the voicetracking, yeah it gets annoying. But no more so that what goes on at AM/FM stations...<P ID="signature">______________

Also, you can't fully staff 50 stations in limited space in start-up mode. There might be less voice tracking somewhere down the line, but it won't go away completely.

As for the talk shows and other syndicated programming, remember that one of satellite's selling points for people who travel a lot (who are a primary market for the service) is that you can listen to a program while on the road and not have to worry about trying to find it on another station once you get out of the signal range. That's why it's on satellite, among other reasons.
