WOLO-TV Columbia questions/comments

So they move their anchors back to Columbia but does anyone else think this new "set" makes them look even more small market? Anchors standing inside a glass store front. Lame. Horrible lighting, light reflections in the glass, no energy from the anchors. Man, that place needs help!

Also, why do they even keep a website (wolo.com)? No local news content and they still have Dave Stanley listed as an anchor. He's been gone for a couple of months, right?

I sound frustrated, yes? It's just that with a few small fixes, they could look like they at least cared. Right now it's an embarrassment of a product.

Thanks for letting me vent. :)

Not to slam WOLO, but is this any different from WOLO of the past 40 years?

Bahakel has never spent much time, money, and attention on poor WOLO.

> You're welcome! I grew up in the Charlotte area until I moved to Roanoke, Virginia and found it funny that all those anchors came from Charlotte! Shanai Harris from FOX Charlotte, Reg Taylor from FOX Charlotte and Dave Stanley at WBTV! I just had to check out the website and found that the General Manager wants you to call and make suggestions:

from WOLO.com
"If you have any comments about our news at ABC 25, please feel free to call me here at the station (803-754-7525). Thanks so much for watching!"

Give it a try...what have you got to lose! You could call and stay anonymous.

No problem venting. Look at it this way. This is Columbia. I know the ramp and rave about channel 10 over the years...but look what they were compared against. I never have been impressed with them either. Susan Aude was good but is it a commemoration or celebration week. When was the last time a radio type got that much attention?....on this board of course. This is a very strange radio and tv market. Too bad Rod Serling is no longer alive. He would do well here............. and so it goes.

I have been told that Bahakel never spent much money on WCCB 18 in Charlotte and that's their home base! The engineers used to tell me they bought old equipment from other stations that was on death's door and beat it till there was no life left. Now that WCCB-18 is Fox and doing well, it might be different.

The rumor mill says that WAXN-64 will be taking Fox away from WCCB. I don't know if that's true.
