WOLS 106.1 HD-3

Yes I turned on the radio this morning to hear the Spanish format on WOLS. HD2 is WHVN and thankfully HD3 is the standards format heard WAVO and WEGO.

Now the gripe, it's mono and bandwidth limited. If they had put it on HD2 it would have sounded much better and could have been in stereo. WAVO on "Live 365" sounds great! So far they are not mentioning it being on WOLS-HD3.

This isn't the music of my generation, but I like it!

More bandwidth and stereo would be nice. But I'll gladly take what we get now, as it does sound pretty good in my car, and it's there any time I want to listen.

Guys,
Without going in too much detail on the HD setup as I know there is another board for it, I have a question. Why do I have more trouble receiving HD-3 than HD-1 or HD-2? I see this issue with a couple of HD stations like 90.7 HD-3 and 88.5 WFDD HD-3. I have not tried 106.1 HD-3 yet. Is there a reason why the HD-3 signal appears weaker than HD-2 or 1? Could it just be a limitatioin of the bandwidth of my car HD radio, or is it due to the FM side bands as HD 3 operates on out on the side band? I notice that I must be much closer to the transmitters for great reception for the HD-3 stations.

That's interesting, I haven't noticed that. I'm not mobile, I have the Sangean HDT-1. Yesterday it kept going back to the WOLS main channel when the HD signal fluttered. I leave the tuner on all the time and today it's been rock solid on HD3.
