WOLT 103.3 FM Oldies back on at Night

Wow, I'm surprised. Guess they couldn't make the LMA fees..

103.3 has had trouble keeping time brokered ever since Davidson bought it. Remember Handlebar Radio? Praize? Fuel/Gasoline/whatever? I see Anitra from WROQ has dropped her show so now it's oldies from 6PM-5AM. And Bill Drake has cut back an hour.

Wonder if Davidson's getting their moneys' worth....

Outside of the oldies show in the afternoons and Bill Drake, I don't think Davidson is making anything off of 103.3 as they are programming it themselves. They do have a few brokered weekend shows though.

Whatever pays the bills. I imagine that the tower lights pull more power than the 103.3 transmitter.

Does it even show up in Arbitron anymore?

"Does it even show up in Arbitron anymore?"

Sure it does!!! Only a 1.1...BUT it still beats quite a few. A 1.1 in market 59 isn't as bad as many might indicate.

Well, it certainly does better than 103.9! 96.7 could be a 2 share if they would get a decent format.

If 103.3 had a bigger budget and ran the oldies programming (maybe updated music a bit) 24/7 like a commercial station, I bet it'd make a pretty nice showing. But as I have said over and over, nothing will ever succeed (commercially, and ratings-wise) on 103.3 OR 103.9 unless they simulcast one another....but they aren't typical radio stations anymore, so it probably doesn't matter -- keep the $$$ coming...

---Shameless plug

If your just filling time with oldies, why not give Jim Graham's "FunRadio.us" some airtime.
He's got a great sounding AAC+ stream that's air quality.---

Hey, Radi0Engineer, thanks for the shameless plug! Unfortunately, I expect very little positive response to Fun Radio on this forum. I try to keep it out of the typical radio presentation (format) and away from typical radio audio processing, yet it sounds tight and professional. One trick I'll give away is that all of the audio is WAV format. There IS less than 1% of the content that came from iTunes and for those I have not yet been able to find a CD or vinyl to replace the songs. I sometimes pay more than I should to get 1 song on a "greatest hits" CD. But, I have fun doing it!
